Have to admit one reason a third party hasn't survived is lack of a good generic all encompassing name. Constitution, that's not all we are. Independent, independent of what? Republican is a great generic name. Democrat, ditto. Ok. both parties kind of suck. Its a matter of who will alienate more people and look like something other than what the parties voters wanted to affiliate with. For example, why not have Bush join the Democrat party and say mea culpa, now lets get my immigration agenda through. Or lets have Bush redefine Republican so much that hard work and small government is not in our vocabulary. Hey Democrats we will out Democrat you, so just join us. So regardless of which party survives, they may consolidate. The rest of us would be the conservatives and/or new voters to the independent party. Conservative, Independent, and definitely not Liberterian or Constitution are generic and/or catchy enough. Basically, I am soliciting a generic and catchy name for a new party with the American spirit, not the wussy spirit, not the commie lite spirit, the American spirit. The Ronald Reagan speach worthy party. All that is missing is a name to this party.
